Human development is a lifelong process of physical, behavioral, cognitive and emotional growth and change. In the same way, early stages of life-from babyhood to childhood, childhood to adolescence, and adolescence to adulthood-enormous changes take place. Similarly, throughout the process, each person develops attitudes and values that guide choices, relationships, and understanding. The term ‘growth’ is used purely in the physical sense. Growth refers to dimensional augmentation, cellular multiplication or quantitative increase in size, shape, height and weight. Also, it is a biological phenomenon which can be easily observed and measured. Growth is one of the components of the developmental process. In a sense, development in its quantitative aspect is termed as growth.
