Textbooks are resourceful and systemized units of work in content analysis. Even in this digital era, textbooks are the essential tool for the teachers and students for making effective teaching/learning processes. Generally, a textbook covers all the units of the syllabus of that particular discipline. Textbooks are a comprehensive series of teaching procedures that inform the teachers what to do and when to do it. It offers both administrators of the educational institutions and the teachers with an inclusive and full-fledged teaching/learning program. Textbooks are formulated according to the learning needs and the grasping capacity of the children at the particular age group.
In this book author can explore the contents of the 10th Science textbook elaborately and put forth the positive and negative points of this textbook. Through the Content Analysis research method, we can specify the relevant features of the textbook. Like, the purpose of the textbook, coverage of syllabus, prejudices, and misunderstanding of the makers of the textbooks. The author did a thorough research of the contents of the book and has pointed out the merits and demerits of the contents included in each unit (totally, there are 8 units). She had investigated the appropriateness of the contents, the themes of the contents, the spelling mistakes and the various spellings for the same content (for example, Bactria), the merits like the modernity of the illustration, and defects like non-labeling in the illustrations given in the textbook.
